Actor Joaquin Phoenix and actress Marion Cotillard film scenes for their new movie directed by James Gray in New York. The movie, which is set in 1920s New York City, does not have a title yet. Cotillard who plays Sonya Cybulski, an innocent immigrant from Eastern Europe who is tricked into a life of burlesque until a dazzling magician tries to save her and reunite her with her sister, who is being held in the confines of Ellis Island
